This isn’t anything groundbreaking. There are plenty of other cycling blogs, many of them smarter and funnier than this one will ever be. That’s fine. At the core, the thought behind this blog is to chronicle and explore the experiences of commuting by bike. There will of course be digressions from this core idea. It happens, for better and worse.
By no means am I a bicycle expert, nor do I intend to be one. I’m just a guy who gets in the saddle and rides; often to work. I may at times express opinions… they are solely my own, unless noted otherwise.
Currently, I ride two (complete) bikes: a Soma Double Cross and a Raleigh One Way. I started out with a Novara Element and rode it for a year before deciding to go to steel. The Double Cross is the result of that desire, with the One Way coming along as a dedicated winter/rain commuting bike.
I’m fortunate to have a variety of transportation options which can make my round-trip bike commute as little as 14 miles. If I ride a full round trip in the saddle, it’s approximately 50 miles. I like to mix it up; the variety is a saving grace.
